Literature Text

A hunter's dream is rest, and to awaken from the nightmare.
A hunter's fate is a nightmare of blood, and sending others into the fray.
A hunter's fray defines who he is destined to be.
A hunter's destiny is to see too much blood in life.

And now we wait, to find the end of the nightmare,
And now we wait, to find release,
And now we wait, for the blood moon to set,
And now we wait, for the sun to rise.

For when the dream the ends,
For when the blood stops,
For when the sun shines peace,
For when it is time for our release.

But only one may leave this torment,
But only one may save the other,
But only one can make a choice,
But only one can be saved.

As two hunters fight over fate,
As two hunters strive their own ambition,
As two hunters have made their choice,
As two hunters, clash together.

They dance their blades,
They spill their blood,
They yell at fate,
They seal their fate.

Only one hunter will remain,
Only one hunter will guide the rest,
Only one hunter will be saved from the nightmare's curse,
Only one hunter will bear the burden of regret.

The hunters' swiftness is borne from moonlight,
The hunters' mercilessness is borne from the hunt,
The hunters' fate is borne from the nightmare,
The hunters' skill...

...is Bloodborne.
Bloodborne is an amazing game, and the second ending is cannon for me. A battle neither side wanted to fight, and a tragic fate for both.

This is just a summary of Bloodborne as a plot, events taken place in the game and words spoken by characters. None of this holds anu meaning or revelation, this is simply a writer putting into plain words the basic experience of Bloodborne's world and story.

As the poem progresses, it only worsens, because the author attempts to make the words seem impassioned and vital. The repeating of the same first words is like a cliche hero speech in a children's film. The same type of words spoken while someone pacing back on forth on a stage clenches their fist dramatically in hopes in intensifies their words.

A poem is meant to induce emotion, to share feeling and thoughts. In all honesty, I believe that poetry as a whole is a dead and beaten concept, but this is merely a rusted nail in the coffin.
